TRIG employs full and part-time employees and consultants in the areas of geology, petroleum engineering, land acquisition and management, geo-chemistry, drilling, finance, energy law and accounting. A summary of the business experience and backgrounds of the officers and key consultants of TRIG is set forth below.
Lawrence W. McGary has served as the President, Chief Executive Officer and chairman of The Rock Investment Group, Inc. board of directors since the Company’s inception in 1995. For the past forty-five years, Mr. McGary has been involved with development stage companies in the natural resource industry. His primary focus has been on uranium, coal, oil, gas and precious metals. Mr. McGary has managed mining and ore processing operations from exploration through production and delivery. Mr. McGary has owned drilling and mine development companies, has managed the financial operations of multi-phased exploration programs, and has directed and managed large scale acquisitions of mineral and oil and gas properties.
Mr. McGary has been directly responsible for, or assisted in, the financial development of several successful oil and gas companies including Basic Earth Science Systems, FX Energy, Foreland Corporation, Equator Oil and Gas Company, Western Resources, Clinton Oil and Amalgamated Exploration Company. Mr. McGary holds a BA degree in Economics from Notre Dame University.
Christopher H. James has been a director of the Company since 2004. In 1967, Mr. James joined Raymond James and Associates, a well known securities firm based in St. Petersburg, FL. In 1973 Mr. James was employed in management of Raymond James’ largest retail branch. In 1982, Mr. James took a leave of absence to attend Bible College, at Word of Life Bible Institute.
He returned to Raymond James when his father, the company’s founder, died in June of 1983. Mr. James subsequently retired and became the trustee of approximately one hundred fifty trusts. Mr. James moved to Challis, Idaho to pursue Christian ministry through Firstfruits Foundation, a charitable foundation he formed in 1986. In 1996, Mr. James and his wife Debbie started Living Waters Ranch, which today is considered a premier Christian retreat and conference center annually serving over four thousand guests in Idaho. Since 2003, Mr. James has also been the President of J Three Corporation, a private investment company.
Otis H. Sanders joined TRIG as Drilling Supervisor in March, 2007 and had previously acted as a consultant to the Company. Mr. Sanders’ extensive employment history in the oil and gas industry has included drilling and drilling supervision, rig fabrication, construction and research of down hole drilling tools in areas including Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, Texas, Oklahoma and Australia. Special school training included log interpretation and analysis, various mud schools, well control and blow out prevention, rig management, material management, master drillers school, top drive management and operation as well as many others. Mr. Sanders works at the Company’s Nevada location.
Michael G. Langton, CPA, serves as controller of TRIG. Mr. Langton has thirty-three years of experience in developing oil and gas companies both in public practice and in private practice as financial officer with Consolidated Oil and Gas, Pyro Mining, Western Energy Development Company, New Century Petroleum Jack Williams Coal Company and Global Capital Partners. Mr. Langton holds a license as a Certified Public Accountant, Colorado State Board of Accountancy. Mr. Langton also holds a BA degree in Accounting from Michigan State University
Warren J. M. Thomas, CPA, MBT serves as the Vice President of Business Development and has served as consultant to the Board of Directors and to the CEO since June, 2006. Mr. Thomas’ responsibilities include capital acquisition, long-range and short-term planning and finance and capital issues. Mr. Thomas provides the company with a broad depth of securities, accounting and marketing experience.
As founder of JRW Investments, Inc., a securities firm that specializes in tax advantaged real estate and oil and gas investments, Mr. Thomas has worked with royalty, working interest, drilling and reworking firms. Mr. Thomas holds a BS degree in Business Administration with a minor in Accounting and Bible from Biola College, a Masters in Taxation from Golden Gate University, a California CPA license and securities licenses 24, 7, 6, 63, 26, 22 and 39.
Bregan McGary serves as the Field Supervisor in Elko, Nevada. He is responsible for managing the field crews, maintaining the shop and equipment and coordinating the survey requests from the scientists. Mr. McGary currently attends college in Elko, Nevada.
Jeffrey Brame, serves as Consulting Petroleum Geophysicist and is overseeing all sciences associated with the petroleum exploration and discovery. Mr. Brame has thirty-two years experience as a geoscientist in the petroleum industry with a diverse background in integrated geoscience interpretation, prospect generation and regional studies. He also has twenty-five years of experience in Gulf of Mexico Basin analysis: including prospect generation and exploration program design in the offshore Texas Miocene, offshore Louisiana deep shelf and slope trends, offshore Mexico, and onshore Gulf Coast basins (Tertiary and Mesozoic) of Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi. Mr. Brames professional experience includes work with Sonat Exploration Company, Hunt Oil Company, Pacific Enterprises Oil Company, BP Exploration, and Northcott Exploration Company. Mr. Brame holds an MS degree in Geology from the University of South Florida and is both a certified Professional Geologist and certified Petroleum Geologist.
Lawrence D. Moore has served as an operations and business consultant since 2007 and had previously acted as a consultant to the Company. Mr. Moore formerly served as Managing Director of Bulk Train Operations for Southern Pacific Railroad, responsible for $350 million in annual revenues before founding Quality Rail Services, LLC., a premier transportation and logistics provider to the Railroad industry, where he was Managing Partner and Chief Operating Officer. His thirty years of business and senior management experience has focused on railroad and trucking logistics, equipment management and commodity transport.
David Seneshen, Ph.D. and his firm, Vista Geoscience, actively coordinate the hydrocarbon soils geo-chemistry surveying, analysis and interpretation efforts. Dr. Seneshen has extensive experience in surface geochemical surveys, geophysical surveys and geochemical consulting. His work has analyzed chemical and mineral signatures in our land positions and has compared those signatures with productive and barren fields, including those in Nevada and the Covenant Field in Utah. Vista Geoscience has determined TRIG’s high probability targets for extensive gas, oil, heavy oils and minerals.
Arthur L. Larson, Geophysicist, serves as Consulting Minerals Geophysicist in coordinating the minerals science sampling processes in conjunction with M.J. (Jack) Bright. Mr. Larson’s extensive professional experience includes work with Phelps Dodge, Piedmont Mining, US Borax, Western Mining, Hunt Exploration and Mining, United Nations Development Program, Houston Oil and Mineral, Tenneco Minerals, Echo Bay Exploration and many others. Mr. Larson has extensive experience in the United States and has worked on projects in more than twenty-two foreign countries. Mr. Larson holds a BS degree in Geophysical Engineering from Michigan Technological University.
M.J. (Jack) Bright, Professional Geologist and Geochemist, serves as Consulting Minerals Geologist in coordinating the geological studies and the minerals science sampling processes in conjunction with Mr. Larson. Mr. Bright’s extensive experience includes the U.S Geological Survey, Marathon Oil Co., Basic Inc., Hazen Research, Inc., Climax Molybdenum (AMAX) and an extensive clientele and project experience as President of M.J. Bright Minerals Development, Inc. from 1975 to 2007. Mr. Bright holds a BS degree in Geology and an MS degree in Economic Geology Chemistry from the University of North Carolina and has completed coursework for Ph.D. in Economic Geology from the University of Wyoming.
John B. Wolcott, C.P.L., and his firm, Wolcott LLC, serve as the primary landmen and the title firm for the project. Under his leadership, his team has assisted in project management, title examination, abstracts, lease administration, due diligence, leasing and mapping on 1,100,000 gross acres (740,000 net acres). The Colorado based firm took over the above responsibilities in November 2006. They are members of the American Association of Professional Landmen, the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation and the Denver Association of Petroleum Landmen.
Robert Ratliff, Ph.D. and his firm Geo-Logic Systems coordinate the modeling of the various science applications that have been utilized by TRIG to determine high probability targets. Dr. Ratliff and his team of geologists and geophysicists do complete data import, depth conversion, section construction, geometry reconstruction, restoration and balancing, interpretation validation and modeling.
Peter Lersey works with the Company in capital acquisition and project consulting. Mr. Lersey’s experience includes acting as President of Mera Group, LLC, a utilities consulting firm, from 1994 to 2008, Chief Administrative Officer- Divestiture with Southern California Edison, Vice President of Engineering for Quadrex Energy Service, Inc. and partner and manager of Oklahoma Oil and Gas, LLC. Mr. Lersey has recently managed all aspects of negotiation and sales of thirteen power plants with a capacity exceeding 13,000 MW and a one hundred twenty-five mile oil pipeline operation for a combined sales price in excess of $ 2.5 billion. Mr. Lersey’s formal education was through the U.S. Navy Nuclear Power School.
